I Dope DOD vengono dall’Olanda e in poco più di due anni il loro hip hop è riuscito a conquistare molti palchi europei, anche grazie al loro sound originale che miscela vari generi musicali diversi. Li abbiamo incontrati per una chiacchierata, ecco cosa ci hanno raccontato!
How Dope DOD start to play together, tell us, please something about your beginning.
Hangin on the street, smokin, doin underground shows together and recording our first tracks at dopey’s crib on a shitty mic. That’s how it started….
In your opinion which are the peculiarity of your way to play hip hop?
We are blending different musical styles with pure and raw hip hop. And we’re very good at it, so that’s what makes us different from other hip hop artists.
Did you add something new in this genre?
That’s up to the people to decide….we make the music we make…It’s our own sound most definitly.
Which are the sources of your music creative process?
So many….a lot of 90’s hardcore hip hop inspired us….electronic influences like drum n bass and dubstep….experiences in our lives….etc…
In the way you play music what is the meaning of a live performance?
We do our shows in a pure hip hop way, 3 mc’s and a DJ. Soon we will incorporate live show visuals in our shows. We have a strong chemistry and a live show with a lot of energy….this keeps it interesting for the crowd.
Nowadays in what hip hop is so important?
To do your own thing. Make the music you want to make….And keep it original.
